Each turret displays either a slate roof or a metal one with respective either single or double windows and a metal element to enable the snow to melt away leaving less weight on the roof. The central portion displays one side with a satin finish and the other with a burnished finish, each displaying gutters. This would have once been taken by a roofer from door to door to showcase not only the design and craftsmanship but also to provide a sample of available designs and enable the client to choose one window or two, a slate roof or a metal one, a satin pewter finish or a burnished one.
